Maidstone face a quick reunion with Delano Sam-Yorke in a relegation clash at Woking.
The sides are level on points just outside the National League bottom four and Saunders expects his former loanee to start on Saturday.
Sam-Yorke scored twice in two minutes as the Cards won at Braintree on Tuesday night, taking his Maidstone form back to Surrey.
The striker inspired Stones’ climb out of the relegation zone during a two-month loan and said he wanted to stay at the Gallagher.
But United had a bid turned down and now Saunders can’t see Woking boss Garry Hill leaving him out.
He said: “He scored twice on Tuesday night so I would definitely stick him in if I were their manager. I’d 100% start him.
“Delano’s a good player and we’ve probably done Woking a massive favour getting him up to speed.
“It was always the case where he was a loan player for two months, he did well for us, he helped us get some points on the board and it is what it is.
“I think at this level players are professional and they do their jobs.
“They’re paid to do their jobs and I’m sure on Saturday he will work his socks off for Woking and I would expect a player to do the same if the shoe was on the other foot.
“I don’t want to build it up too much.
“He’ll probably score, it’s bound to happen, isn’t it, but we’ve just got to worry about us.”
Maidstone are six unbeaten after their midweek draw with Sutton but lost to Woking 3-0 at the Gallagher last November.
Saunders said: “We’re on a good little run and we can go there with confidence.
“Woking are a good side. I think they showed that when they came here this season.
“It’s big game but they’re all big games, there’s no doubting that.
“It’s going to be a battle to stay in the league, the same as it’s a battle for Torquay, York, Woking, all of us.
“We’ve just got to get on with it and do our job.”
Striker George Oakley made his debut against Sutton after joining on loan from AFC Wimbledon for a month.
Maidstone wanted another forward after losing Sam-Yorke and Oakley fits the bill.
Saunders said: “I just thought he offered something a little bit different to what we had and I felt we needed another lad if something was to happen up front with Joe Pigott.
“He’s another option for us and after losing Delano, we needed that.”
