Covid is back in the Maidstone squad, with Saturday's New Year derby against Tonbridge the latest game postponed.
A Stones player has tested positive for coronavirus, and chief executive Bill Williams said: “This virus is really taking its toll at the moment and we find ourselves with an ever-increasing fixture backlog.
“We’ve now got four matches to rearrange and it looks like we will be playing Saturday/Tuesday for the foreseeable.
“It is the most frustrating situation, for various reasons we’ve only played two matches in the last five weeks.
“We will do what we can on Zoom to keep the players’ fitness ticking over, as we prepare for what will be a busy and testing time upon our return.”
The Boxing Day meeting between the Kent rivals at Longmead was called off after a Tonbridge player tested positive.
That also led to the postponement of Angels’ game against Dartford today.
Maidstone were due at Eastbourne Borough today but that game was postponed yesterday after a positive test in their opponents’ camp.
It's the second time Covid has hit the Stones squad, with matches against Braintree and Poole called off in December after a player and a member of the support staff tested positive.
