Maidstone are working on deals to keep Ross Lafayette and Dean Beckwith at the Gallagher - maybe even permanently.
The Sutton duo have two games left on their one-month loan spells - home matches against National League leaders Macclesfield tomorrow and Torquay on Saturday.
Stones boss Jay Saunders is keen to extend their stay, with Beckwith impressing in defence and Lafayette proving a handful up front.
Saunders has been in touch with U's manager Paul Doswell and plans further talks.
He said: "I’ve had a chat with Paul. It’s something we’ll look to extend or maybe look at making them permanent.
"I’m not sure yet but I’ll have a chat with the lads.
"I’ve been really pleased with all the lads that have come in.
"It’s something that’s given us a lift and although we haven’t picked up the results it’s allowed us to have more options in the team.
"Hopefully we can sort something out this week. We’ll see.
"I’d be interested in keeping them longer but I need to have another chat with Paul and see where we go from there."
Maidstone's other loanees, Alex Finney, Andre Coker, Blair Turgott and Will De Havilland, are already on board for the rest of the season.
