Hastings Utd v Maidstone Utd
Maidstone United joint-boss Lloyd Hume insists the Stones will not be going to Hastings looking to avenge last year’s 4-0 mauling at The Pilot Field.
Hume claims the new-look Stones team which began the new Ryman League Premier Division campaign in positive fashion just need to perform to their potential to secure three points.
He said: “Last year we were awful at Hastings. It was the worst that we played all season - worse than the 7-0 at Chelmsford. But they didn’t do it to us, we did it to ourselves.
“We are not going there to settle a score, we just want to play as we know we can. If we play as well as we can we should get three points.”
He added: “I know a lot of people down there, they have lost a lot of players but they are a good team and they will be alright again this season.”
New striker Meshach Nugent is unlikely to figure for the Stones despite nearing fitness after a groin injury sustained while at previous club Dulwich Hamlet.
