Maidstone United academy defender Ben Swift has earned an extended trial at Aston Villa - and could learn his future this weekend.
Swift, 17, will return to the Midlands on Wednesday and is set to play against West Ham under-18s on Saturday.
Stones academy manager Jack Parkinson believes the Premier League giants will make a decision on Swift after the game.
Swift joined Villa on trial last week and played 90 minutes at left-back in a 2-1 win over Leicester.
Parkinson said: "I had a call on Sunday from the boss at Aston Villa and they're pleased with him.
"They'd like to see him when he's fully-fit and by that I mean fully-fit at their standard of football rather than ours.
"They appreciate the standard he plays at with us is a lot slower than full-time football.
"He's going back on Wednesday, training Thursday and Friday and he'll be involved against West Ham on Saturday.
"After that they'll make a decision on whether they want to keep him for another three or four weeks to monitor him or let him go."
Swift wasted no time making his presence felt in Villa's match against Leicester.
Parkinson added: "Aston Villa are more than happy with what they've seen so far.
"When I spoke to Ben on Friday it sounded like they were looking for someone to defend properly, which is right up Ben's street and what they seem to like about him.
"He went in for a tackle and smashed Leicester's winger, which can go one of two ways.
"Either people stand up clapping or they think it's a bit rash - but they liked it.
"He's been quite laid-back about it all.
"He didn't find the standard a million miles better than he's used to but he said it's a lot sharper.
"If he wasn't up to it they'd have let him go there and then."
