Bobby-Joe Taylor is ready to get down to business when he returns to the club he rejected this weekend.
Taylor spent time on loan at Bishop’s Stortford from Cambridge last season and they offered him a permanent deal in the summer.
He picked Maidstone after turning down a new contract with the League 2 U’s but is looking forward to a Stortford reunion on Saturday.
The 21-year-old played 13 games for the Hertfordshire club, scoring twice but there will be no room for sentiment as United continue their National League South promotion push.
Taylor said: “I enjoyed it at Stortford. It’s a good club and the manager, Rod Stringer, is a nice person. He tried to sign me in the summer but I decided to come to Maidstone.
“Cambridge let me go there on loan to get some game time and more experience of men’s football. I started every game bar one out of 13 and I was thankful for my time there.
“It did me good when I went back to Cambridge and it has also helped me this season.
“I respect Stortford but I go there wanting three points to keep up the run we’re on.
“Hopefully, I’ll get a good reception – I don’t think I did anything wrong there.
“It’ll be nice to see a few faces. I’ll say my hellos but then it’s competition time and I’m there to win a game of football.”
