I was buzzing for Leon Legge after his equaliser on Tuesday night at Preston.
He hadn’t started for a long while until the trip to Leyton Orient but he trains hard and is always ready if called upon.
That has now happened and he is someone I can learn a lot from.
He went up for that header and it was a great goal. We talk a lot, as we often sit together at the back of the bus and he is such a good professional.
Last Saturday, he had a great game against Bradford when we won 1-0. He then comes in and scores such an important goal in the week.
I’m still young and he is someone I can learn from with his attitude, especially as I am not getting games at the moment.
It is tough when you are on the bench but Leon has shown that you need mental toughness and he clearly has that.
I know he is quite religious, reading the Bible before games and it’s helped him.
I want a new deal at the club next season and it’s now up to me to prove to the manager what I can do in training.
A new contract hasn’t been talked about as yet but I am hoping it will come. There are three games left and all are important.
