Maidstone boss Jay Saunders believes his side deserve more than a point from their first two games in the National League.
Stones followed their opening-day draw against York by conceding an 88th-minute goal in a 1-0 midweek defeat at Aldershot.
The excitement of competing in the top flight of non-league football continues with a 500-mile round trip to Chester on Saturday (3pm), then it’s last season’s play-off semi-finalists Braintree at the Gallagher on Tuesday (7.45pm).
Right-back Callum Driver (leg) is the only injury doubt.
Boss Saunders said: “One point from six probably doesn’t do us justice but that’s the way it is. I’m sure we’ll play badly some games and nick three points. That’s football. I’m not too worried at this stage.
“We knew it was going to be tough and it will take time to adjust to the level.
“We go again Saturday. It’s a long journey, it’s all new to us and we’ll find our feet, I’ve got no worries about that. We’ve just got to be a little bit braver.”
The Aldershot match was an eye-opener, a strong full-time side taking the game to Maidstone in front of a passionate home crowd.
Saunders felt nerves got to some of his players but claims they will be better for the experience.
He said: “You realise when you come here – lovely pitch, a good, noisy crowd – what sort of league you’re coming into."
