New dad James Rogers reckons he’ll be available for Maidstone at Bishop’s Stortford - but his manager isn’t convinced.
Rogers’ wife Lisa gave birth to twin girls on Wednesday and it remains to be seen whether the in-form midfielder will play on Saturday.
Stones boss Jay Saunders - a father-of-four - said: “As far as I’m aware he’ll be okay for Saturday.
“He said at training on Tuesday he will 100% be available but things change so we’ll have to see how he goes.
“It does affect you when you have kids, no doubt about it.
“I said to him ‘as much as you feel confident you’ll be okay, it’s one of them where you don’t know.’
“It affects people in different ways. I know it affected him when he found out he had twins on the way but he got his head right and he’s been outstanding of late.”
Jack Paxman could partner Joe Healy in central midfield at mid-table Stortford if Rogers does stay at home, or Dan Sweeney may be asked to play deeper provided he shakes off a bug.
Rogers has been given Thursday night off training.
