Maidstone United will have a new-look team next season if joint-managers Alan Walker and Lloyd Hume have their way.
No sooner had the pair’s own positions been confirmed by the club than they started wheeling and dealing in the transfer market.
Out went combative former Gillingham midfielder Mark Saunders, who is moving his family from their Ashford home back to the West Country where he is expected to resume playing for his first club Tiverton.
Defender Craig Roser has also left the club to spend more time with his family.
"We thank both players for their services," said Walker. "When we signed Mark from Folkestone late in the season we knew of his intentions.
"One minute the move was on, then it was off, now it’s back on. As for Craig, he wants to spend more time with his young family and we respect those reasons.
"He has told us that he is not going to another club."
Into the club could arrive at least six new signings, while ex-Arsenal, Fulham and Wimbledon midfielder Ian Selley has committed himself to the club as has skipper Ben Lewis.
Walker and Hume will announce who stays and goes after the weekend.
"I believe our supporters will be excited by the players we intend bringing to the club," said Walker. "We have not wasted any time in seeking out the players we believe will make sure there is no repeat of last season. No announcement will be made until we have spoken to every member of the present squad regarding what we intend doing."
