Academy winger Victor Sodeinde was a surprise inclusion in Maidstone’s squad at Macclesfield.
The second-year scholar signed National League forms last Friday and was handed the No.28 shirt for the trip to Moss Rose.
Stones boss Jay Saunders had space on the bench for a wideman with Delano Sam-Yorke and Tom Wraight injured.
The youngster, who’s been on loan at Holmesdale, was an unused substitute but enjoyed his day.
Saunders said: “Vic’s quick, he’s direct, he was top scorer in squad two in the academy last year and he’s moved up to squad one this year.
“He can be a little bit erratic at times and a bit inconsistent but you normally find wingers/forwards are at that age.
“I think he was a bit taken aback when I said about getting the paperwork done and getting him involved but I felt he deserved to come up.
“He fitted in well and he’ll train with the first team and we’ll assess him.
“There’s some lads in the academy that have got a chance and he’s one of them.
"We've got the Kent Cup coming up and no doubt he'll get a run-out."
