Captain Lee Worgan believes Maidstone's team spirit will play a big part in their National League survival bid.
Stones players have kept their heads up during a difficult run and were finally rewarded with a 2-1 win over Torquay at the weekend.
Plenty of clubs trot out the team spirit line but there's a genuine togetherness at the Gallagher.
Worgan, whose penalty save clinched victory against Torquay, said: "I don’t think you’ll ever lose that here just because of the mood the management team create for us.
"Obviously there’s pressure - they want us to win and they want us to make sure we’re completely concentrating on what we need to do.
"But, on the flipside, when you’re part-time, when they only see us when they do, you’ve got to keep the atmosphere light, especially in the situation we’re in.
"It’s all the boys, it’s all the management team, everyone’s managed to keep the spirit high.
"This season, it’s a completely different type of animal to what we’ve normally dealt with.
"Normally we’re up the top and it’s a different type of pressure.
"It’s completely different because you’re scrapping for each point, for each tackle, each save, each corner."
Worgan's penalty save came in front of the new North Stand at the Gallagher, with builders making rapid progress.
The 1,768-capacity terrace will be a stand fit for the National League.
Worgan said: "It’s excellent. The club makes movements in the right direction.
"The board like to do it the right way and fair play to them.
"The stand looks brilliant. When it's finished and full to the nines, it will be an excellent thing. It's another incentive to stay up."
