Tommy Warrilow is hoping Tonbridge’s first FA Cup win for four years can help breathe new life into their league campaign.

Angels beat Hayes & Yeading United 2-1 in Tuesday’s second qualifying round replay after a goalless draw on Sunday.

They collected £4,500 for the win, having not picked up a penny in FA Cup prize money since 2009.

Warrilow’s side host Staines Town in Skrill South on Saturday seeking a first league win since August.

He said: “We’ve got to kick on and keep our run going.”

Fifth-placed Staines have a 100% record at home but they haven’t picked up a point on the road. “I don’t read anything into that,” Warrilow said.

“Anyone can beat anyone in this league. We lost to Gosport when they were bottom but we beat Chelmsford.

“We’re aware of Staines, we’ve had them watched and preparing in the right way. I keep saying this but it’s about us."
