Manager Tommy Warrilow was left embarrassed by Tonbridge’s humiliating Kent Senior Cup final defeat to a young Charlton side on Wednesday night.
Angels were beaten 7-1 at Longmead by Charlton’s development team and the Tonbridge boss (pictured) was fiercely critical of his players’ efforts.
He said: "I don’t think any of them turned up, to be honest. They embarrassed me and they embarrassed the club in a cup final. Some of the boys looked like they had their minds elsewhere, regarding where they’re going to be next year.
"When you have a bad year, you find out a lot about your players. Some players, who have had reasonably good seasons, have got people in their ear telling them they can get them better deals, trying to turn their heads. Some of the boys are getting sucked into that."
Tonbridge only just avoided relegation from Blue Square Bet South this season and Warrilow insisted his players should face up to their accountability.
He said: "We are where we are because of the boys who have been on the football pitch. If I had to pick a player of the season, it would be like ‘pin the tail on the donkey’. People have under-performed and that’s why we are where we are."
