Will De Havilland believes Maidstone are capable of upsetting Oldham in the FA Cup.
The sides meet in a second-round tie at the Gallagher on Saturday.
Centre-half De Havilland likes the look of the Latics but Maidstone have already beaten one League 2 club this season in Macclesfield.
He expects Oldham to be better than the Silkmen but sees no reason why the Stones can't reach the third round.
He said: "They’re a big team. We know they’re going to be decent and they’re getting on all right in League 2.
"I was watching some of their highlights the other day and they do look a decent side.
"Macclesfield are still struggling so you’d expect them to come out and be a lot better.
"We know it’s going to be tough but if we perform like we did in the second half against Macclesfield and the Leyton Orient game, I think we can beat them."
Maidstone need a good performance after back-to-back defeats.
They played poorly against Havant and Eastleigh but there's nothing like an FA Cup upset to raise spirits.
He said: "If we can turn up and play like we have in the previous FA Cup games it should give us a bit of positivity in the camp and hopefully swing things from the last couple of games.
"We know we’re going to be big underdogs but it’s going to be packed here and if we get the crowd behind us early on, then hopefully we can cause an upset.
"We'd been doing well before the last two games. Saturday wasn’t great. Going down to 10 men didn’t help and it knocked us back a bit.
"I think you could tell against Eastleigh we were quite low on confidence."
