Welling boss Loui Fazakerley has moved quickly to plug his side's defensive injury crisis.
The Wings have completed the signing of Nortei Norety ahead of Tuesday night's trip to Forest Green Rovers in the Vanarama National League.
Norety was a former Chelsea youngster who left Stamford Bridge in 2013 after a number of injuries.
He has previously played in non-league circles with Maidenhead and has spent much of pre-season with Welling.
The Wings will be without player-of-the-year Barney Williams and Fazakerley through injury while summer signing Harry Osborne faces a late fitness test after missing the opening day win over Guiseley at Park View Road.
