Maidstone boss Jay Saunders is yet to see a better National League goalkeeper than Lee Worgan.
Stones captain Worgan starred in United's 2-2 fightback at Sutton on Tuesday night.
Outstanding saves from Rory Deacon's thumping volley at 2-1 down and Kevin Amankwaah's second-half header at 2-2 were the pick of his night's work.
Saunders said: "He's had to earn his money tonight but that's what Worgs is capable of.
"That's why we've got him here, he's a good keeper, and I'm pleased.
"They were chances that could have been avoided if we'd switched on defensively but Worgs has done his job and he's top class."
Asked if he'd seen a better keeper than Worgan this season, Saunders added: "No, not yet.
"I got questioned the other day by a supporter and he kind of asked me why he's captain and things like that, and I think that shows you why.
"He leads by example, he's great for us and that's why we've got him."
Saunders praised his side's character after battling back from 2-0 down to end a run of four defeats.
Bobby-Joe Taylor's penalty and Jamar Loza, with a clever header, earned the point which moved Maidstone up two places to 16th.
Saunders said: "I'm pleased with the character we've shown tonight.
"We needed to stop that losing run. I'm disappointed because two sloppy goals yet again have probably cost us getting three points but I thought first half we were much the better side and second half they came into it but you expect that away from home.
"I questioned them before the game. I just felt the last couple of weeks we've lost, our heads have gone down after conceding the first goal.
"We didn't give up today and that was pleasing.
"When you're on the back of four defeats, probably the last place you want to come is Sutton away, with their home record.
"But we've come and got a point here and hopefully the lads will take confidence from that."
