Maidstone closed in on National League survival after coming from a goal down to win at Wrexham.
Stones trailed early on but goals from Joe Pigott and Jamar Loza gave them a 2-1 lead.
Lee Worgan’s penalty save denied Wrexham an equaliser before Alex Flisher was rewarded for a hardworking performance with United’s clincher.
Maidstone made three changes to the side beaten at Macclesfield on Tuesday night.
Among them was Magnus Okuonghae who, after weeks on the bench, saw his first Stones action.
He started in place of Jamie Coyle and looked at home, winning a series of headers in his own penalty box, threatening from set-pieces at the other end and also talking the back four through the game.
He had a bit to do early on as Wrexham started well.
The Red Dragons looked lively in the Stones half, played some nice football and took the lead after only nine minutes with a towering header by Jordan White from a right-wing cross, Worgan getting a hand to it and going close to pulling off a spectacular save.
Maidstone grew into the game, themselves looking bright on the ball with Reece Prestedge pulling the strings.
A good tackle by Martin Riley denied Alex Flisher but the Stones man did get the better of the Wrexham defender a few minutes later, skipping past him from a Prestedge pass but keeper Shwan Jalal blocked.
The visitors were enjoying a decent spell and equalised on 30 minutes with Flisher again involved.
He forced a mistake in the Wrexham defence, simply by not giving up, and laid on a tap-in for Pigott at the far post.
Flisher, looking for his first goal since October, fired wide from Jamar Loza’s pass just before the break, with Mark Carrington missing the target at the other end.
Maidstone took the lead in the 52nd minute.
Wrexham, expecting a Flisher long throw, were caught out when he went short to Loza, who beat two defenders and fired past Jalal at the near post.
The hosts had a chance to level on 63 minutes after Okuonghae was penalised for a challenge on Ntumba Massanka.
But Worgan made an excellent low save from substitute Anthony Barry’s spot-kick and managed to push away the loose ball too.
It was Barry’s first touch after coming on and from his second he missed an open goal after a Worgan clearance fell straight to him just outside the area.
Flisher got the goal he deserved as Maidstone made it 3-1 with seven minutes left, Wrexham gifting him a simple header from Jack Paxman’s corner.
