Yemi Odubade returns to his old club when Maidstone visit Eastleigh in the National League tonight (Tuesday).

Odubade joined Stones following his release last month, scoring twice on his first start in the win at Torquay.

The striker will be fired up - but no more than normal.

Stones boss Jay Saunders said: "I think you should want to prove a point in any game you play.

"Hopefully he comes back to haunt them but it’s going to be difficult and if we defend like we did against Solihull, we'll be in a lot of trouble."

Eastleigh sit eighth under former Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore, who took charge in the early weeks of the season.

After joining Stones, Odubade said: "I wasn’t part of his plans, he shipped out some of the old guard, which is totally understandable.

“The best way to describe Ronnie Moore is old-school.

“He’s been around football for years. He knows the ins and outs and is very experienced as a manager.

“He’s got his own ideas, his own ways. I've fond memories of Eastleigh but they’re going in a new direction under Ronnie Moore.”

Saunders wants a response after Maidstone's 4-2 defeat by Solihull on Saturday but is likely to be without Alex Flisher, who is still recovering from a badly bruised calf.

The Stones boss said: "Eastleigh are a good side. They've got a lot of ex-league players, it’s certainly not going to be an easy one.

"They’re a club with a lot of money, they’re a big club at this level and they want to push on and get in the Football League.

"It's going to be difficult but we've just got to try and get Solihull out of our heads and get going."
