Motorists suffered delays after a crash on the M20 this afternoon.

The accident, thought to involve up to four vehicles, closed one lane between junction four for Leybourne and junction three for the M26.

It caused delays for traffic heading through the Smart motorway roadworks.

Queues were stretching back to before the junction four exit slip.

One lane was also closed on the coastbound carriageway due to another accident between Junction 3 for the M26 and Junction 4 for the A228.

Congestion stretched back past Junction 2A.
