An annual ticket to nine Country Parks across Kent is up for grabs.
A Kent County Council campaign is offering the season ticket to the winner of its ‘Feel Good Photo’ competition.
One of the 'Six Ways to Wellbeing' is 'taking notice' of the world around you, so the competition organisers want contestants to send in a photograph of a view in Kent which lifts your spirits or makes you happy.
An on-going body of research suggests that the Six Ways to Wellbeing can simultaneously boost your mood, strengthen relationships and even add seven years to your life.
Competition judge, Graham Gibbens, KCC cabinet member for adult social care and public health, said: “Protecting your wellbeing is essential and we want people to make small changes to their lives now to promote better mental and physical health into the future.
“Taking a photo of a view you enjoy is a great way of savouring the moment and appreciating the ‘here and now’."
All submitted photographs will be posted on Six Ways to Wellbeing ‘Feel Good Gallery’ on Facebook.com/LiveItWellKent.
By sharing your photo and introducing others to a different view of Kent, you’ll be adopting a second way to wellbeing - ‘giving’.
Whether it’s a view of a favourite street or building, a snapshot of a scenic landscape or a glimpse of the sea, send as many as three photos to mentalwellbeing@kent.gov.uk by midnight of Sunday August 31, 2014.
The winner, who will be chosen on 30 September and announced in the first week of October, will receive a year’s parking pass, worth £40, to nine of Kent’s Country Parks.
