Aylesford: Appeal after death of Derek Gane

Police are appealing for witnesses following the death of a man, found with unexplained injuries by a bridge.

Derek Gane, 69, was found lying injured in Station Road, Aylesford, shortly before 10.40am on Monday, August 14.

He was discovered by a member of the public, next to the footbridge that crosses the M20 from Teapot Lane to Aylesford Railway Station.

Derek Gane's death is being treated as unexplained

Mr Gane, from Aylesford, was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries and was subsequently transferred to a London hospital where he died on Thursday, August 17.

Officers investigating the circumstances surrounding his death have released a photograph of Mr Gane and also a CCTV image that shows him earlier that day, wearing a grey t-shirt, blue jeans and brown boots.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who saw Mr Gane on the morning of Monday, August 14 walking along Teapot Lane, over the M20 footbridge or in Station Road where he was found injured.
