A man was left needing oxygen therapy following a chip pan fire at his home this afternoon.

Fire fighters attended Court Road, in Burham, at lunch time and administered oxygen to a man who was suffering from the effects of breathing in smoke.

An ambulance was not needed and the fire was out when crews arrived.

Fire fighters also ventilated the property and fitted working smoke alarms.
