M26 crash near Borough Green and Wrotham shuts carriageway

A crash between a lorry and a car has caused disruption on the M26.

The eastbound carrigeway reopened at around 5.10pm after it was closed near Borough Green between the slip roads following the collision at around 3pm.

Traffic was being sent off at junction 2A for Wrotham Heath and normal conditions resumed just over two hours after the incident.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 1.33pm today to reports of a collision involving a lorry and a car on the coastbound carriageway of the M26, near to J2A.

"Officers attended the scene and a lane closure was put in place whilst the car was moved out of the carriageway. All lanes are now open."
