The family of a passionate biker who died in a crash say it is a “huge loss” for everyone who knew him.

Scott Reeve, 43, lost his life after his black Suzuki collided with traffic lights at a pedestrian crossing near West Malling railway station.

The loving father-of-one has been described as the “nicest man in the world” after the fatal crash, which happened at around 5.50pm on Sunday and closed the road for hours.

Flowers have been left at the crossing along the A228 Ashton Way between Kings Hill and Leybourne for the mechanic who worked at Tilyard Autos in Maidstone.

Scott’s wife Sharon Larcombe, who he married in 2016, praised her husband and soul mate.

She said: “Scott was my beloved partner, love of my life and soul mate. We met in 2013 and lost each other, but our love found its way back to us.

“He was so humble, non-judgemental and he loved and lived with passion. His love for me was unconditional, as was his love for his bike and our spaniel Lolo.

“We adored Scott. He was tragically taken far too soon. We were a team and created so many happy memories together.

“It’s a devastatingly huge loss for everyone who knew or met him. I feel so lucky to have spent the time we had together and so privileged to have been the love of his life.”

Scott’s friend Jordan Delaney-Storer said he is still getting to grips with the loss.

Remembering Scott, he said: “You've left an immeasurable hole in my heart, brother. The fact we’ll never get to ride together when you were the one I rode the most with is so hard to comprehend.

“You became my brother and I will spend the rest of my life missing you and waiting for that ride again. Your family, friends and your son were your absolute life, another reason why we bonded so strongly. Until we meet again, sausage. Ride free now.”

Friend David Sharp added: “Sadness fills my heart at the news that you are truly gone from the world. We grew up together and you will never be forgotten. Heartfelt condolences to all your friends and family.”

A statement from the West Malling man’s family said: “It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our much loved Scott Reeve, son, father, brother, uncle and friend to many.

“We are all devastated and thank you for your kind messages.

“We’re so sorry that you will hear the news this way, but our family wants to make sure everyone hears.”

Scott is survived by his mum and dad, wife, four sisters, one brother and son.

His family and friends are planning a huge send off which will involve dozens of bike riders following the procession. His friend Jordan is organising the ride and wants it to be “the biggest Kent has ever seen”. Details are yet to be finalised, but will be announced in the near future.

Police are appealing to anyone with information or footage which may help their investigation.
