A 60-year-old man suffered smoke inhalation after a fire started in a flat in Snodland this afternoon.

Two fire engines were called to Rectory Close at 12.24 to deal with the blaze, which had started in a bin.

Paramedics also attended and the man was treated with a first aid kit at the scene.
