Crews tackle car and hedge fire on A25 Sevenoaks Road in Borough Green

Photos show the moment a car and a hedge were engulfed in flames.

Crews were sent to the blaze on the A25 Sevenoaks Road in Borough Green at about 11.30am on Tuesday (July 2).

Firefighters were called to a car on fire in Sevenoaks Road in Borough Green

The vehicle was near the mini roundabout by the village’s war memorial.

Thick black smoke was seen billowing from the car, while two firefighters tackled the blaze with a hose.

After half an hour the fire was out.

A fire service spokeswoman said: “One fire engine attended and crews, wearing breathing apparatus, extinguished the car that was alight and the nearby hedge that had also caught on fire.

“There were no reported injuries and the cause is not yet known.”
