A barn went up in flames this afternoon, with firefighters using beaters and hose reel jets to put out the blaze.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called at around 3pm to a small barn alight in Rochester Road, Aylesford.

Four fire engines attended, as well as a bulk water carrier, and crews wore breathing apparatus while using hose reel jets and beaters to extinguish the flames.

Crews left the scene just after 5pm.

No casualties were reported and the cause is not yet known.
