The Jireh Chapel in Ryarsh is up for auction

Built in 1865, the freehold detached property offers an entrance foyer, main hall, rear hall, kitchen and store room, with an outside courtyard containing ladies’ and gents’ toilets.

In the Book of Genesis, Jehovah-jireh was the place in the land of Moriah, where God told Abraham to offer his son Isaac as a burnt offering, but later relented and provided a ram for Abraham to sacrifice instead. Jehovah-jireh means “God will provide”.

It was a name given to many Baptists Chapels in the second half of the 19th century.

Uses other than as a place of worship may need planning permission from Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council.

The guide price is £110,000.
