A GoFundMe which was started for a father-of-two’s family following his tragic death has almost reached its target.

Jamin Longhurst, 49, had gone for a jog on Sunday, October 20, in Barming, near Maidstone, but never returned home.

A search was launched and his wife, Jo Longhurst, spread the word over Facebook, saying his disappearance was “completely out of character”.

But on Monday, October 21, police confirmed a body had been found. It is understood Jamin suffered a heart attack.

In response, a GoFundMe was set up by family friends to help his wife and two boys.

A goal of £5,000 was set and at the time of writing £4,235 has been donated. To donate, click here.

Those behind the crowdfunding page, Michael and Sarah Hudson, said: “Jo and her family have supported the village over many years, and it is only fair and proper that we do the same for her.

“Jo’s youngest son and mine have been good friends since nursery and play Xbox daily with each other.”

His heartbroken wife Jo said: “We are absolutely devastated that the body of my gorgeous husband and wonderful father of two amazing boys was found in Barming Woods.

“We are completely heartbroken and our world has been shattered.

“We would like to say a massive thank you to Kent Police, the search and rescue teams and to each and every one of you who shared our post and went out searching, thank you.”

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner.
