A pick-up truck driver fled the scene of an accident which left a motorcyclist injured in a High Street.

Police were called to the collision in West Malling just before 9pm last night.

The force confirmed it has launched urgent enquiries to find the truck driver, with a spokesman saying: "They had left the scene before police arrived."

The motorcyclist has been taken to a London hospital for treatment.

Last night a small section of the road was cordoned off between Tesco and The Farmhouse pub.

No further details about the biker's injuries are yet available.
