Sixth form students at schools across Tonbridge and Malling are celebrating after collecting their A-level results.

Thousands of pupils discovered their long-awaited A-level results today. Here's a round-up of reactions from schools in Tonbridge and Malling.
Pupils and staff at Aylesford School - Sports College, in Teapot Lane, are celebrating excellent results with 100% of all exam entries graded at A* to C. Overall, 36% were marked at the top score. Sally Doran, head of sixth form, said she is delighted. She said: “These results are a reflection of the hard work of staff and students and are richly deserved. We are very proud of what has been achieved and the range of courses at universities across the country that students from Aylesford School – Sports College will be starting next month.”
A new record was set at Wrotham School, in Borough Green Road, as staff and pupils celebrate its best ever A-level results and a 100% pass rate. Forty-two percent of the 44 year 13s achieved A* and A grades with 77% taking home A* to C marks. Students who achieved A* and As include Jodannah Davis, Matthew Lewis, Emma Lord, Melissa Sidki, Abigal Norris, Megan Sheridan and Sean Wild, who will be taking his place to study law BPP University. Deputy headteacher Michael Cater said: “We are very proud of our students and staff who, through high expectations and challenge, have found their way to success and opportunity.”
The Judd School, in Brook Street, Tonbridge, celebrated 96% A* to C grades and 25% A*s. The school set a new record with 53% of teenagers gaining four A-levels . Twenty-five of the 172 pupils have secured places at either Oxford or Cambridge Universities.
Pupils and staff at Holmesdale Technology College in Malling Road, Snodland, celebrated another year on the up with a pass rate of 98%. Headteacher Julia Campbell said that one of the true reflections of the school’s continuing success is the seven students heading off on gap years to Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia: “It’s great to see them opening up, every year more and more are exploring the options of university, travelling and apprenticeships.
It was a record breaking year for The Hayesbrook School in Tonbridge. The school enjoyed a 100 per cent pass rate with 76 per cent of their students walking away with three A-levels or equivalent. 98 per cent achieved two A-levels or equivalent. Further to this, 70% of BTEC students secured at least one distinction and BTEC Sport saw 100% of students achieve a distinction or merit. Principal David Day commented: “I am incredibly proud of the achievements of our students. “It is especially pleasing to see strong academic A-level success resulting in the majority of our Sixth Formers gaining their first choice of university.”
Boys at Tonbridge School, in High Street, are celebrating a 100% pass rate. Over a third of results were A* with over three quarters of papers marked as an A or better. Twelve pupils have secured four or five grades at A* and 81% of the year group achieved A* to B marks.. Fourteen of the year 13s have won places at Oxford and 12 are going to Cambridge. Headmaster Tim Haynes said: “These are very strong results and boys and staff are to be congratulated on their achievements.”
The headteacher at Hillview Schools for Girls, in Tonbridge, said she “exceptionally proud” of pupils for achieving 100% success. Elaine Buchanan said: “Hillview students have worked incredibly hard to achieve their results and we wish them every continued success in their promising futures”. KCC Deputy Cabinet Member for Education Cllr Margaret Crabtree joined the year 13s as the opened their results on Thursday.
