A lorry driver died on the M26 today after becoming ill at the wheel of an articulated truck.
The 45-year-old lost control of the lorry which hit the central reservation between junction 2a, the A20 for Wrotham, and junction 3 for Borough Green.
The crash happened at 12.52pm, and led to long tailbacks on the coastbound carriageway.
The lorry has been recovered and one carriageway is now open.
The stretch of road where the collision occurred is restricted to one lane.
Debris from the crash also fell on the M20 below, and a rolling roadblock was put in place while it was cleared.
On the M26 some motorists, stuck for more than four hours, left their hot vehicles as they waited for the wrecked lorry to be cleared.
The delays meant the start of the Kent v Hampshire T20 blast match at St Lawrence Ground in Canterbury was re-scheduled for 7.15pm.
Both Hampshire players and supporters are thought to have been stuck in the traffic.
