A man has been accused of trying to steal from his mother and before attempting to sell off the goods to Cash Converters.
Prosecutors say James Nicholson took a Samsung television and an Xbox from the home of his mother, who lives in Sevenoaks.
The Lenthorp Road, Greenwich resident, is then said to have taken the items to Cash Converters in Orpington where he tried to sell them off.
He appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court in Chatham on Monday, January 20, where he pleaded not guilty to the charges.
It is then alleged Nicholson removed the items – which also included meat, confectionary items and commemorative coins, worth a total of £990 – from the property, left the key under the mat, and got a taxi to Orpington.
Nicholson pleaded not guilty to theft and dishonestly making a false representation with intent to make a gain.
Magistrates released him on bail on the condition that he live and sleep at his address, report daily to Lewisham Police Station and not to enter Seal, in lieu of a case management hearing which will take place at Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday, January 23.
He was also told not to make direct or indirect contact with his mother.
