Police, ambulance and fire crews were all sent to the scene at around 4pm as part of a massive emergency response.

At the time, drivers were temporarily prevented from using the rural route following the incident.

An ambulance spokeswoman said: “Crews assessed and treated one person at the scene before being joined by The Air Ambulance Charity, Kent, Surrey, Sussex who airlifted the person to King’s College Hospital in London for further medical treatment.”
