Festive joy was all around when three lit up cars brought Santa to town.

It came as South East 4x4 Response organised a Santa Run around Platt and Borough Green with lots of music and Christmas lights.

The event took place on December 16 and saw more than 300 children and their families enjoy Santa's visit.

Asda in King's Hill donated 300 boxes of chocolate to be distributed around the villages.

A spokesman for SE4x4R said: "There were children in the windows, others coming out and even parents thanking us for bringing a lot of joy to the community.

"It is a tough time for a lot of people, but it's also a time to be distracted from a lot of other events that are also going on.

"So by us doing this, it it enables us to bring joy to a lot of people that may be otherwise struggling or who wouldn't necessarily have had this kind of interaction.

"The idea of bringing Santa around was also really good for the children because some of them don't get to see Santa because many times you have to pay for it.

"There were a lot of extremely happy families."

The charity, formed in 2008, is a group of unpaid specialists who utilise our own vehicles, equipment and skills to provide assistance to the Emergency Services, County Councils and their community in times of need.
