There were long delays on the M20 after a vehicle hit the central reservation and overturned.

All lanes of the London-bound carriageway were shut between Junction 5 for Aylesford and Junction 4 for Leybourne following the accident at 12.20pm, but the motorway has since reopened.

Lane closures remained in place until 1.50pm, while the debris was cleared.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene but no one is believed to have been seriously injured.

As well as long delays on the M20, traffic was building on the coast-bound carriageway, due to people slowing down past the scene of the incident, and the accident also had a knock-on effect on the A20, where there were queues between Aylesford and Larkfield.
