A mum and her child were left covered in glass after a man reportedly smashed their car windows with a crowbar.
Investigators are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage after the incident, which happened in Larkfield at around 5.40pm on November 4.
The woman was driving along the A228 Malling Road towards Castle Way, before turning into Leybourne Way when there was a minor traffic incident involving another car.
It was reported that, when she came to a halt at temporary traffic lights in Lunsford Lane, a man got out of the other vehicle and smashed two of the victim’s windows with a crowbar.
He then reportedly left the scene towards Gighill Road, driving a white Volkswagen Golf Polo.
PC Lewis Lowdell of the Maidstone Victim Based Crime Team, said: ‘This was an unprovoked assault that resulted in the victim and her child being covered in glass. It was fortunate they were not injured and we are appealing to any witnesses to contact us.
“Motorists with dash-cam who were using roads in the area at the time of the incident – including Malling Road, Castle Way, Leybourne Way and Lunsford Lane – are asked to check for footage of a white Volkswagen Golf or Polo.”
