Police chase and drugs bust in West Malling and Ryarsh leads to arrests of two women from Faversham and Chatham

A police chase and drugs bust led to the arrests of two women yesterday afternoon.

Police were called to reports of people behaving suspiciously in a car parked on Stangate Road, West Malling, just after 4pm.

But when an officer approached the vehicle, the driver sped away.

Following a police pursuit, the car was later stopped in Ryarsh.

Police found substances in the proximity of the car on Old School Lane, with suspicions raised that the woman had been trying to dump the drugs.

A 33-year-old woman from Faversham was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst under the influence of drugs.

A 37-year-old woman from Chatham was also arrested, on suspicion of possessing heroin.

Both remain in police custody.
