Smoke filled a Snodland home when plastic was accidentally left on a hob.

The cooking appliance was then switched on and concerned occupants called firefighters as the plastic began to melt.

But the fire was already out when crews arrived and no one was hurt.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called at about 9.30pm last night and left the building shortly before 10pm.
