A police car en-route to a reported assault collided with a Mercedes this morning.

The accident happened at 8.45am in Malling Road, Kings Hill.

A spokesman from the force confirmed the police vehicle, a Skoda Octavia, was involved but the accident has been described as minor.

They added that a different patrol car was sent to the assault scene.

Kent Highways has warned drivers that one of the two lanes on the road is partially closed.

There are no reports of any injuries and an ambulance has not been called.
