Police chase ends in Aylesford farmer's field, two Chatham men arrested

Two men have been arrested after a police chase ended in a farmer's field in Aylesford.

It started after a silver Vauxhall failed to stop for Kent Police's Medway unit.

Up to six police cars were spotted giving chase in Bull Lane, Aylesford.

Kent Police's Rural unit said: "The vehicle was stung by firearms units and eventually brought to a safe stop."

Witnesses saw the vehicle speeding along with burst tyres.

It later tried to escape through a farmer's field, but was unsuccessful and came to a halt.

Two men, aged 26 and 27, from Chatham, were arrested at the scene at around 9pm.

The Vauxhall was seized by police.

They were arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop for police and going equipped for theft.

Police were unable to say where the chase started at this stage.
