Three-mile queues on M20 between Junction 4 for Leybourne and Junction 3 for the M26

Long queues formed on the London-bound M20 this morning after two incidents within minutes lead to lane closures.

A lorry had broken down between Junction 4 for Leybourne and Snodland , and Junction 3 for the M26.

Traffic officers were called at 8.47am and one lane was closed causing three mile queues.

The incident was cleared just after 9am.

Just minutes before the breakdown there was also a separate collision on the same carriageway involving a lorry and a car.

It happened between Junctions 5 for Aylesford and Junction 4.

Kent Police was alerted at 8.44am but did not need to attend.

Nobody was injured and both incidents have now cleared.
