Crash near Tesco in Leybourne Way, Larkfield, puts three in hospital

Three people were taken to hospital after a crash near a supermarket.

Police, firefighters and paramedics were called out to Leybourne Way in Larkfield just after 7.30pm yesterday.

The road was shut near the Tesco after three cars collided.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "Officers, the South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service attended and three people were treated for injuries before being conveyed to a local hospital for further medical attention.

"The road was closed while emergency services were at the scene and was reopened at 9.44pm."

The crash is thought to have happened between the Tesco supermarket and Gighill Road.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service confirmed it was called to the scene.

However on arrival occupants were out of their vehicles so firefighters did not need to take any further action.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said: "Three patients were assessed and taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital, Pembury for further treatment."
