The A249 has now re-opened following a serious crash involving two lorries.

The accident happened on the Sittingbourne-bound carriageway just after 1.30am today, closing a stretch from Detling to junction 7 of the M20.

There was debris over the road which took a while to clear.

The teen was arrested yesterday.

Two other cars were also involved.

The ambulance service sent two paramedic cars and two HART vehicles, and treated five people for minor injuries at the scene, both lorry drivers and three people from one of the cars.

Two of them were taken to Medway Maritime Hospital as a precaution.
