Blaze which destroyed Volkswagen van in London Road, West Malling started deliberately, fire crews say

Fire crews believe a blaze which destroyed a van in West Malling was started deliberately.

Police are investigating the incident which happened in London Road at around 1.30am yesterday.

One fire engine attended after reports of smoke and arrived to find the Volkswagen van on fire.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.

Nobody was injured and enquiries are ongoing.
