Busy junctions on the M20 are set to shut for entire weekends in July.
Highways England's £92 million smart motorway scheme to widen the M20 will see closures on two different junctions and a stretch of the M20.
The closures come on weekends when many families will be getting away for summer holidays.
On the M20 the London-bound exit slip at Junction 3 for Borough Green and the M26 will be shut from July 5 to July 8.
The M26 will be shut from junction 2a at Wrotham to the M20 from 8pm on Friday, July 12 to July 15 .
The exit slip for Junction 4 at Leybourne will also be shut from July 12 to 15.
Junction 4's entry slip will be shut the following weekend, July 19 to 22.
Highways England's back-up plan for works on the M26 could see the coastbound carriageway closed from Junction 2a to the M20 from July 5 to July 8.
That's the same weekend thousands are expected to descend on Detling for the Kent County Show.
Works are being completed by Kier Construction on behalf of Highways England.
Tracey Arnold, communications and customer liaison manager, said: "We're advising everyone to allow extra time to complete their journeys.
"We will do our utmost to complete the work as quickly as possible and keep noise and disruption to a minimum. However, some operations may cause noise, for example reversing bleepers which are necessary for health and safety reasons."
