Crash on A228 Seven Mile Lane, East Peckham sees woman taken to hospital

A woman has been taken to hospital after a crash involving three cars and a van.

Police were called to Old Church Lane in East Peckham, at 9.50am, with the A228 Seven Mile Lane blocked in both directions.

Officers, paramedics and firefighters also were at the scene.

Two fire engines attended and crews used hydraulic rescue equipment to remove the roof of one vehicle and free a casualty.

A police spokesman said: "Officers were called to a collision involving three cars and a van on Seven Mile Lane at its junction with Old Church Lane.

"A woman was treated for injuries before being taken to a local hospital for further medical attention."

A spokesman for the ambulance service added: "Three patients were assessed and treated, one of whom was taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital for further checks."

The road was closed while arrangements were made to recover two of the vehicles and it reopened at around 12.40pm.
