A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of burglary after a clubhouse was broken into and beer cans stolen.
The theft happened at Larkfield Football Club in New Hythe Lane at around 2pm on Wednesday.
A 17-year-old boy remains in police custody.
The arrest comes after the club posted the stills of CCTV capturing the incident on its Facebook page, urging people to share the images.
Russell Jeffery, chairman of the club, told the Kent Messenger: “Obviously we are shocked and annoyed about what has happened.
"Being a club for the kids in the community, it is just more money we have to pay out.
"We are insured but the premium has gone up since the last break in and we have to pay the excess.
“We are also looking at getting funding for fencing to try and secure the clubhouse which will cost quite a lot of money that we don’t have.
“All this just for four or five beer cans.”
It is not the first time the club has been targetted.
In December last year the windows were smashed and alcohol stolen. It was following that incident that the club had the CCTV installed.
