Towns and villages across the area will be taking time to reflect on the carnage of two world wars and numerous smaller conflicts this Sunday.
There will be Remembrance Day parades in many larger communities, with ex-servicemen and members of youth organisations playing a prominent role.
Smaller communities are holding simple wreath-laying or memorial services in village churches.
The Royal British Legion Village in Aylesford will hold its service in its new Garden of Honour at 3pm.
In West Malling, events start at 2pm with the mayor taking the salute by the pump in the High Street at 2.10pm.
A parade will proceed to St Mary’s Church for a service of remembrance at 2.30pm, followed by a short wreath-laying ceremony at the war memorial outside the church. The High Street will be closed to traffic between 2pm and 2.15 and again between 3pm and 3.15pm.
In Snodland, deputy mayor Cllr Mark Rhodes and deputy mayoress Julie Rhodes will attend the Remembrance Day parade and service.
The parade leaves Holmesdale Technology College at 2.30pm heading for Snodland Cemetery where the service will take place.
Afterwards, the parade will continue to the Devonshire Rooms in Waghorn Road.
Expect local road closures between 2.25pm and 3pm, and again between 3.30pm to 4pm.
Ditton’s remembrance service at the Community Centre in Kiln Barn Road starts at 9.45am. A parade goes to the war memorial at the junction of the A20 with New Road for a two-minute silence.
In Hadlow, there will be a special service at St Mary’s Church at 10.50am followed by wreath-laying at Hadlow Cemetery in Cemetery Lane at noon.
Contingents in Kings Hill will also gather at the old airfield control tower off Liberty Square at 10.20am before marching to the Community Centre in Gibson Drive for a 10.30am service.
Tonbridge’s service and wreath laying takes place in the Memorial Gardens at Bradford Street, starting 10.45am, and will be followed by a parade down the High Street to Tonbridge Castle. There will be rolling road closures of up to 15 minutes between 10.30am and 12.30pm.
Tonbridge will host a further act of remembrance on Armistice Day, Wednesday, November 11. A maroon gun will be fired at 11am followed by a two-minute silence. The mayor will be in attendance for a service at the town’s Watergate memorial, and Ditton will hold a short service at the war memorial on the A20 London Road at 11am.
